Pic(k) of the Week – March 5, 2018

‘Pic(k)’ of the Week for the week of March 5, 2018

Well! Our early optimism seems to have ‘melted a bit’ in the dump of heavy wet snow we got this past week!  And it seems as though another storm is on the way…oh well…  But it is still warm inside the greenhouses when the sun is out and we have put our first snow pea seeds in the ground (how appropriate!) inside the large greenhouse.  It seems that as long as we can get seeds into the ground or into seeding flats that spring must be just around the corner! (sshhh…don’t tell anyone but spring comes officially in only 15 days!) Note…also don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour this Saturday night!

This week we also were able to construct and put new ends on the hoop house which will allow us to fill it up with spring lettuce and spinach which we will be seeding in flats this week along with onions, cabbage, and broccoli…can’t wait!

…remember, folks who farm together, grow together!
