Pic(k) of the Week

‘Pic(k)’ of the Week

Welcome to the ‘Faithful Farm and Food Initiative of Patterson Community Church’.  You may have noticed that last summer that we began putting in greenhouses and small vegetable gardens next to our Fellowship Hall.  This was done for a number of reasons including growing healthy and all-natural produce for our Food Pantry participants and local community, demonstrating loving care and stewardship of Creation, and fostering the community that follows whenever folks come together to farm.  Due to the time required to ‘create’ our small farm last season we did not have produce available until late in the season.  This season we anticipate having plants and produce for sale much earlier.  This space is dedicated to keeping you updated on the work and progress of our farming efforts week by week and as you can see by the picture we are just getting ready to start some early seeds in our ‘inner seeding bed cold frame’.

…remember, folks who farm together, grow together!
